Why We Serve

Jesus came to serve, not to be served. As part of his faith family, let’s follow his example! Serving is one of the greatest catalysts for spiritual growth, with the added benefit of cultivating friendships and building community. Opportunities

 

  • Food Ministry – Do you have the gift of hospitality and/or love to cook?  The food ministry is always looking for people to join our team to prepare food for church events, funerals, potlucks, people in need or outreach events like Vacation Bible School. 

  • Guardian Prayer Team – This team of amazing prayer warriors meets weekly to pray over the needs of our church family, church leadership, community, nation and world. 
  • Men’s Ministry – We seek a gifted and Godly man to lead this ministry. 

  • Mowing Team – Like to connect through nature, the mowing ministry needs you to mow the church lawn! 
  • Security Team – This exciting new ministry is still taking shape, and seeking new volunteers.

  • Usher Team – Ushers help prepare and serve communion, hand out bulletins, welcome guests and make sure everyone is comfortable for worship. 
  • Vacation Bible School (VBS) – VBS is one of the most exciting weeks of the summer for our church family and kids in our communities! Children from Crete and surrounding areas are invited to join us for a fun, engaging week filled with food, music, games, creative activities, and meaningful Bible teaching. Our hope is that every child feels welcomed, valued, and excited to learn more about God. Whatever your gifts and talents, we have a place for you to serve at VBS!  

  • Welcome Team – A joyful spirit and a warm smile are the best qualifications to serve on this team.  This team greets you at the door and welcomes you home every week with a handshake or hug and always a smile. 

  • Women’s Ministry – We seek a gifted and Godly woman to lead this ministry. 

  • Worship Team – Our worship team is made up gifted musicians, sound technicians, and projectionists with a heart for Jesus.  Whether serving on stage or behind the scenes, we always offer praise.
